How to upgrade R4i GOLD 3DS labeled “V1.4.1” or “3DS” for NDSi V1.4.3 V1.4.3
hardware upgrade:
1. make sure nds fully charged, better with external power pluged.
2. |First, reformatting the MicroSD card, download the latest kernel 1.61b.
3. Unzip and copy the files(R4iMenu,moonshl2, moonmemo,r4.DAT) to the root of MicroSD card. http://www.gold-r4i.co.uk/dstt-dstti-card.html
4. Download the latest upgrading programs. Unzip and copy the file(fwup142c.nds) to the root of MicroSD card.
5. Inset MicroSD card into r4i-gold card, insert r4i-gold card into ndsdsldsidsixl3DS http://www.r4i-ds.de/
6. Turn on console and press “a” button to run the upgrade file fwup142c.nds. Note: When upgrading the r4i-gold card, it is not allowed to turn off power or pull out r4i- gold,otherwise it will damage the r4i-gold card.

It is reported that the Nintendo DSi latest version V1.42 will block flashcard and there is a list show which card will be blocked! Even thought so far this can only happen on the USA and European version consoles, you also have to pay attention to this.
